DUKE OF YORK'S ACT III SCENE II

Enter Sixth Former

Friends, Romans and particularly Vth form, lend me your time.
I write to talk to you, not to give your sides.
The evil that you do to others is inherited,
The good you do is pretty negligible anyway!
The noble head has told you that you are Dukies
And so being, are polite and well mannered,
And so you think it a grevious fault.
The noble head has said many things,
For the head is an honourable man,
So are all masters, all honourable men.
I come to write to you of yourselves
You are all my friends, and you are all good.
Yet I say you are easily led,
And I am an honourable man.
You together have hurt many people,
And done in yourselves what you think not right.
Then the weaker have cried, and together we all weep.
We all should be made of sterner stuff,
Well my friends we are of sterner stuff,
We all have the power to be strong,
We can all thrice refuse the kingly crown.
Oh friends some turn to brutish beasts,
And some of you have lost your reason.
I just wish to stir your hearts to mutiny and change,
And I will do you no wrong.

D.A.M. (with apologies to Bill)
