Here it is at last after a lapse of two years. In past years "The Yorkist" has been a drab collection of mediocre poems and sports reports; we are all partly to blame. This year we hope to give the magazine a complete facelift. We see "The Yorkist" as a means of expressing the views and opinions of the average schoolboy, yet at the same time retaining its element of humour and pleasure. Unfortunately we still feel that a lot has been left unsaid, but hopefully in future years this trend will fade out.

This magazine should not be just idly flicked through and tossed aside to gather dust, but something that should be read, enjoyed and understood. In it we feel we are putting over an idea relevant to all.

There is a great deal of room for improvement in all aspects of school life and we think the problem stems from a combination of disinterest and naivety on the parts of most boys. We personally, would like to see various changes but the school policy of maintaining the "status quo" seems to have made things difficult. It appears daring steps have never been taken but we hope to see this attitude change in future years.
