SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

The efforts of last year's upper sixth did nothing to boost interest in the school as far as the school magazine, "The Yorkist" was concerned. Yet it was made known near the beginning of last term, that a magazine would be produced this year. To put it bluntly, the response was quite pathetic: both from boys AND masters.

The point must be made that the magazine is YOURS and it is at your disposal to do what you like with it. We shouldn't have to go around asking people to write articles - they should be already written!

Putting together "The Yorkist" is a time-consuming job but one which can be made easier and more enjoyable if the rest of the school were prepared to co-operate. Ideally, the magazine should be put together by just a couple of people, but the product shouldn't be just THEIR work and views, ideas etc., but the work of the WHOLE school. I hope you will take note of what I am saying.

Finally, I'd like to thank all those who did help.

MARK WATKINS

PRINTER'S NOTE

Sorry about the delay in production. We were hoping to have the magazine finished by half-term, but the printing machine had to be serviced. Apologies too for all spelling mistooks and faded areas. Finally thanks to Mr. Hancock, Mr. Acheson and Dave Martin for their help.
